What can I say? Microsoft, you hate them, you love them. They make SOME good things, but a lot of it is crap which is too bad. If they had balls, they would force hardware specs down vendors throats and maybe the PC architecture could pull its sorry ass out of the 80's sometime before the year 2000 if we are fortunate. I personally like WindowsNT myself, I will admit it has some limitations, but they are ones I am willing to live with. As for Windows95, I can honestly say I think it is patented horse manure. Visual Basic is one of their nicer products, ditto for FrontPage. In view of recent DOJ allegations at Microsoft, all I can say is that if MS thinks a web browser is a GUI for an operating system, they are fucking loony.  The "Active Desktop" in IE4 slows even my P200 with 64MB of RAM down to a pathetic crawl.  The actual IE4 web browser is nice, but I most certainly DO NOT want a web browser for my main GUI.  I have a feeling MS is going to get a staggering amount of tech calls because of this and issues surrounding it when they finally do release Windows98/WindowsNT 5.0.  Come on MS, get real, IE4 is a necessary OS improvement?   How about fewer memory leaks and more consistent interface design instead.   Make me long for the days of my old Amiga 2000 and "Guru Meditation" errors.  Even so, deep down in my soul I will never be happy with Microsoft because they made that abomination called "Bob". Yecch. Rinse thoroughly and spit.
