Subject: Fry's
1) I called Fry's, and amazingly, unlike most calls, I was actually connected to a sales person. I was calling to check on the possiblity of upgrading a Compaq computer. The sales person "" me that I could not upgrade my computer becasue compaq solders CPU's to the motherboard. Obviously this is not the case...but I let him tell this to me in three different ways.
Was he totally stupid? Was he hoping to sell me a new computer system?
This is but 1 in a long list of terrible Fry's shopping experiences.
2) Someone stole my organizer and shoulder bag out of my car in downtown San Jose. They took me wallet and check book to Fry's, and went on ashopping spree. They wrote a check for over $600, which was accepted by the Fry's employee. The person even presented my ID for identification.
I of course cancelled my credit cards, my checks, and had to get all new ID. But, not
before Fry's had accepted this check. I had to close my checking account to prevent any
damage to my bank account. Fry's tried to cash the check over and over. Eventually, the
placed me in a bad check writers pool, and sued me for $2500. Additionally, they reported
this to every major credit reporting agency.
After a year of work, with my bank notorizing statements stating that the check was a
forgery, filing police reports in three city's, writing multiple letters to all of credit
reporting companies, and having my attorney get their attorney off my back, my life is
back in order.
Fry's Electronics is evil.
Good luck in your quest to help the rest of the world understand what we already know.
